Birth Doula

Having the support from a doula has shown to reduce labor time and increase birth experience satisfaction.

The doula's role is unique.  A doula doesn't take the place of the doctors, nurses, midwives, or partners.  A doula is trained to help facilitate comfort measures and enhance the progress of labor; to help people feel safe, informed, and assured.

As a doula, my goal is to help moms and their partners have the birth experience they desire- whatever that may look like.  There is beauty in birth no matter how it arrives. My goal is to help make the experience as beautiful and joyful as possible.

Angie is simply the best! We had out baby in March, and Angie was our doula. We met her about a month and a half prior to our birth, and she went through our birth plan with us. She seemed competent at the time, and gave us an awesome first impression, and as we got to know her more through the time before our birth I just felt completely comfortable with her being part of our experience. She would text me multiple times a week, asking how I was and making sure I was okay. When the day of our birth arrived (4am), I called Angie to tell her I was in labor. She drove 40min so she could help me labor at home before we went to the birth center. She helped me try a couple different positions, then rode in the car with me and my husband so she could better help me through contractions. That was literally a lifesaver, and helped me be so much more calm. It was my first birth, so I had no idea what to expect. My labor was 7.5 hours and Angie went above and beyond. She brought little tea lights, which made the atmosphere way more calm. She had essential oils and a wrap to help with labor. She held my hand, applied counter pressure, and quite literally held me up so I could squat when I felt I needed to. She helped my husband with knowing how he could assist. She made sure everything I wanted to happen, happened. She made me feel amazing, and capable. I really could not have gone through labor without her, she made all the difference. After the birth Angie continued to be in contact, willing to offer support and advice whenever I needed it, and has always just known exactly when to text me and check in, and it’s always been exactly when I needed it. Angie was not only my doula, she has become an amazing friend and mentor. I would say whoever is lucky enough to be able to have her as part of their birth experience, has definitely found a hidden gem! Highly highly recommend!!!

I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Angie! From the moment I met her, I could tell that she was a kind, nurturing, and empathic person, and I immediately felt comfortable around her. She made me feel so cared for by checking in with me frequently during my pregnancy and afterwards to see how I was doing, and by including my husband in the process. During the birth, she was such an incredible support to me, and I remember feeling so grateful for her the entire time! I ended up having a postpartum hemorrhage and had to be transported to the hospital, and I couldn’t bring my baby with me. Angie volunteered to watch my baby at my home until my husband could return from the hospital to watch her, which we were so incredibly thankful for. I recommend Angie to absolutely everyone who wants to have an amazing doula at their birth!
